2016 CRF250R

Ready & razor sharp

Honda motorcycles have won just about every racing championship on the planet. By innovating, and offering the best machines in class. The 2016 CRF250R is a great example, with fine-tuning tweaks that keep it out in front.
The changes for the 2016 CRF250R are:
  • The biggest news for 2016 is in the cylinder head, Honda’s 249cc MX power plant gains a redesigned camshaft with titanium exhaust valves and lighter exhaust and inlet valve springs.
  • A redesigned intake port and airbox boot optimises airflow.
  • A new lighter piston and connecting rod allow a revier engine characteristic. Increased compression ratio to 13.8:1 (2015 13.5:1) and a re-designed exhaust resonator increase power over the 2015 model.
  • The 2016 model year sees the CRF250R receive Updated Showa SFF-AIR-TAC 49mm front forks. The damping adjustment range increases from 4 click/rotate to 8 click/rotate.
  • The rear shock and springs are the same as the 2015 model, but the rear end receives new valving and now uses a heavier spring rate in the early part of its stroke.
  • Detailed improvements to the footpegs and their mounts make it much harder for close-packed mud to jam the footpeg in an ‘up’ position.
